Format of this workshop

We will meet on Zoom, Monday evenings from 7 - 8PM for approximately an hour session for 8 weeks. Each session will be recorded and sent to the group incase you cannot make each session. This workshop is designed for beginners or intermediate level.

It will begin January 26th and end March 16th.

During these sessions we will focus on the foundations of what make a solid practice. We will expand into the layers of each form and learn to flow them all together. After the 8 session you will leave with the know how to continue this practice on your own.

  • Breathing exercises

  • Zhang Zhuang (standing meditation)

  • Warm up exercises

  • The 8 Trigram Organ Qigong routine

A personal story of healing

A number of years ago I herniated a disk in my neck. I dealt with neck pain regularly. I had chronic stiffness in my neck, shoulders and spine, and a weakness radiating all the way down into my forearm. I practiced Qigong at the time and used what I knew already to try and help recover from this injury. The injury was deep though and sometimes felt like it was never going to go away. The Qigong forms I knew helped relieve the pain and stiffness a little, but it did not seem like it was helping much with the recovery of the injury. It was around this time that I learned about White Tiger Qigong and their Taoist Medical Qigong systems. I began practicing them and started to see big improvements. Over a few years, the deeper I took this practice the more results I experienced in my recover of this injury. My neck mobility was greatly improving, the forearm weakness was going away and I did not feel burdened by stiff back and shoulders anymore. I started to focus in on just the 8 Trigram forms as they particularly help with spinal health. Over a period of about 4 months I stayed committed and took these forms deep. I was amazed at the transformation I was experiencing and witnessing within myself! My neck was clearly recovered and was back into a state of alignment in which I had not experienced in almost 6 years. I experienced the medicine of these ancient forms and it transformed me into a better state of overall wellness.

Through this I learned that recovery takes dedication and time. Healing is possible but it takes a commitment to your personal health and persistence in working towards that goal.
